About me

Who am I?

I am a native Austinite, Licensed Professional Counselor, speaker, and founder of Victorious Walk Counseling. I am also a widowed mother of three young men, and I know firsthand the depths of grief, loss, and the unexpected turns life can take.

The sudden loss of my husband, Victor, in 2017 changed everything. My future, as I once knew it, felt like it disappeared overnight. But through that pain, I discovered something powerful: the ability to hold both... grief and growth, heartbreak and healing, loss and purpose.

That lived experience now shapes everything I do.

As a therapist, I create a space where clients feel seen, safe, and supported as they navigate anxiety, life transitions, identity, relationships, and grief. My approach blends clinical expertise with deep compassion, helping individuals not just cope, but move toward a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and whole.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a TEDx speaker and mental health advocate, passionate about helping others embrace resilience in real, tangible ways. Through speaking, workshops, and content, I empower people to live boldly, honor their stories, and recognize that healing is not about choosing one truth over another... it is about learning to hold both.

I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University and currently serve as a therapist at a private university in Georgetown, Texas, where I support students through a wide range of mental health concerns. I also lead my private practice, Victorious Walk Counseling, where I extend my work into the broader community.

At the core of everything I do is this belief:
You can experience pain and purpose.
You can carry grief and still grow.
You can fall apart and still become.

You can live victoriously.

My approach

My approach is multifaceted and integrative, drawing from a variety of evidence-based modalities to tailor treatment to the unique needs of each client.

  • Holistic approach considers all aspects of your being,  integrating your mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions to gain a deeper understanding of your overall experience. In application, this involves blending mindfulness practices with conventional talk therapy to guide you through your journey of healing.
  •  I recognize that finding  a therapist who comprehends the nuances of navigating the world with marginalized identities and its effects on self-perception can be challenging. A Culturally Responsive and Inclusive approach embraces your identity, validating your cultural encounters, and nurturing your capabilities, aiming to assist you in addressing trauma stemming from oppression. My expertise lies in serving BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals.
  • You deserve to feel autonomous in your healing journey. A Client-Centered  approach is attuned to your needs and recognizes trust as a cornerstone of the client-therapist relationship. I work to build that trust and cultivate a collaborative space so that you are an active participant in the therapy process.
  • Trauma-Informed means I understand the signs, symptoms, and widespread impact of trauma. My approach uses various techniques, including EMDR, to help you process trauma in a safe and supportive environment while avoiding retraumatization.

In the wild

When I’m not in session, you’ll most often find me in my most important role, being a mom to my three incredible sons. They keep me grounded, inspired, and constantly growing. Motherhood is one of my greatest teachers, and I strive to lead them not just with words, but through how I live, heal, and show up in the world.

I am also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where I value the genuine sisterhood, service, and sense of community that allows me to stay connected to purpose beyond my individual work.

Outside of my professional life, I am deeply connected to experiences that bring me joy and presence. I love being near the water, whether that’s swimming, boating, or simply soaking it in. You can also find me dancing, enjoying music, spending quality time with family and friends, or embracing moments of mindfulness and stillness.

I believe in living fully, laughing often, and creating a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside.
