Walking Log 11 August 2008
I *really* could have used a longer walk today, but the weather was threatening rain so I decided a quick, short walk would be best. Not that I mind getting wet. It’s not like I’m afraid of melting. [And, okay, now it's driving me insane that I can't upload photos!! Anyone else having trouble with the Wordpress uploader thingy? So imagine there's a picture of the Wicked Witch from Wizard of Oz HERE.] Although the rain does some strange things to my naturally curly hair. . . [Now imagine there's a picture from Sweeney Todd inserted HERE.] Blah.
Anyway, there was a light fog in the distance when I started out. As I got further on the trail, it was misting which made my glasses a mess. Finally just took them off. By the time I got to the 1 mile turn around point it was “What? A light drizzle?” (I think I’ve quoted that correctly. Name that Meg Ryan romantic comedy). Since I wasn’t sure if it was going to start pouring down rain at any moment, I decided not to go further even though I *really* wanted to. I guess I need to invest in some sort of waterproof jacket for days like this. I’m off to investigate. . .
PS: The reason I felt like a long walk today was because of a bit of bad news yesterday afternoon. My ex-hubby’s youngest sister passed away. I think she was around 45. I’ve known her since we were teenagers. Sadly, alcohol played a big part in her early death.
